Tully Mac's Mini Cooper, aka, Coop, is (as far as we know) the only purebred irish draught PONY in the world! She is the result of a carefully considered line breeding to include Colman, RID, Harepark Pink, RID and Skippy, RID. Coop is by Winmaur Sargeant Pepper, RID out of Winmaur Bright Olive, RID. Winmaur Bright Olive's damsire is Snowford Stoker, RID. Winmaur Sargeant Pepper's dam, Snowford Bright Pink, RID is a full sister to Snowford Stoker and was deliberately bred after his untimely death as the result of colic at the age of nine. He was by Colman, RID out of Harepark Pink, RID. Snowford Stoker, among others is the sire of Happy Ending, RID. Authorities of the breed agree Snowford Stoker was poised to become an influential sire before he was lost. The potency of his lines was tapped through this deliberate line breeding. Both sire and dam of Coop boast Skippy, RID, grandsire of Rolex CCI**** 2009 winner Headley Britannia. Coop herself is a smart package of movement and talent. She is currently being backed and broken and acting like she's done it all before (she seems to have inherited her sire's laid back, eager to please disposition). We are so thrilled with how Coop has turned out that we repeated the breeding hoping for the same result. Her weanling brother is already bigger than her so we must have really hit a genetic lottery! Blackberry Ridge Farm strives to maintain the true traditional traits of the purebred irish draught, especially maintaining traditional size with ample bone beneath. We boast that our stallions in particular can hold back size to return to traditional. Coop proves this beyond a shadow of a doubt! Though she's exceptionally small she's certainly exceptional in many other ways. Coop is very special to us. She has great potential as a performance mount, we hope to put her in harness this winter and are already toying with breeding options to see what we would get!
